Roger Corey returns on Mix 94.7
My time here at the Radio Campus has added a valuable professional relationship to my career. Roger Corey has been an asset in understanding the evolving and ever changing radio and media market in the Altoona and Blair County Area. His understanding of the history has helped me understand where the market is and where it is going. Well folks he is back in his rightful place, at the throne of Moring Radio Hosts. He will now take the 6am to 9am Morning Drive time show on the Mix 94.7 and add some great momentum to the “Best Mix of Everything” station. Now My view is slanted as we do work together, and I have reprinted an article from the Altoona Mirror in its entierty.
The Following is an article in the Altoona Mirror written by Walt Frank:
A familiar voice returned to the local airwaves Monday as Roger Corey took over as host of the morning radio show on WBRX-FM, known locally as MIX 94.7.
Corey, who served as morning co-host on WALY-FM from 1991 to November 2008, said it felt good to be back on the air.
“Reconnecting is always great. There are so many good people around,” Corey said. “I missed the listeners maybe as much or more than they missed me.”
Station owner David Barger, who hired Corey in March 2009 to work in sales and marketing for WBXQ-FM, WRTA-AM and WBRX-FM, is glad to have Corey on his airwaves.
“We are very pleased to have Roger on the air for us. He is a wonderful asset to the station,” Barger said.
Corey, who took over for Dave Bogart, said the first morning back on the air was “crazy.”
“I hadn’t ever taken so many calls. If I shut off the studio lights, all you would have seen would be the red lights on the phones flashing. It was like a psychedelic experience,” he said.
Corey said he and Barger had talked about his eventual return to the airwaves.
“Dave said he would hold the morning slot open for me. I said, ‘OK; I am ready any time you are ready,’” Corey said. “Timing is everything.”
He said he enjoys the music he is playing.
“We play modern adult contemporary music from the ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and now,” Corey said. “I am playing a lot of great music. It is a great mix.”
He will continue to work in sales and marketing after his 6 to 9 a.m. weekday air shift.
“I can sell the ad, record it and play it while on the air,” Corey said. “It is like one-stop shopping.”

All things will come round to anyone who will but wait. We should have the patience to await, then success will not far away from us.
